A guide for Roadworthiness

It looks as though DVSA will now be investigating all hauliers who use old tyres on their vehicles.  Old tyres, defined as more than 10 years old, which are found during routine checks will result in follow up investigations.

Contractors will be asked to provide details of their tyre management system or at least an explanation for the use of old tyres.  If these do not prove to be satisfactory, the contractor may be referred to the Office of the Traffic Commissioner.
